Steve narrows the gap to his nearest rival in the 2015 BTRA Division 1 championship to just five points after an exciting weekend of racing that saw sunny skies that turned into a downpour!
Steve secured his first podium for third place in the sunny conditions at Donington Park on Saturday in Race 1 but things were to change…
Sunday saw the heavens open the flood gates, which would lead to some hairy conditions!!
The first truck race on Sunday Steve got a flying start in almost impossible conditions and started to move away from the pack but the conditions resulted in the race being reg flagged on lap two, much to Steve’s dismay. Shortly afterwards the race was restarted and again Steve scampered of in to the distance but once again because of ever worsening conditions that lead to several truck spinning off, it was decided to abandon the race! After the race Steve said of the conditions “It was the right choice… it was scary out there… I could feel the truck drifting left and right as if it was not in contact with the track!”
Race two on Sunday with slightly improved conditions saw Steve take a second place after a hard fought battle with an ever hard charging Stuart Oliver!
The last race of the weekend saw Steve come home in fifth place.
As usual Steve would like to extend his gratitude to his team, all his sponsors, family & friends and fans for their continued support.
Next it is on the SIlverstone…
Steve will be again eying to continue his climb up the Division 1 leader board!
