A new livery and a new season!!

The 2015 BTRA Division 1 Championship got under way this weekend at the famous Kent circuit of Brands Hatch.

With a newly liveried truck, Steve stepped in to the cab of his MAN race truck ready to do battle with the best drivers in the UK. With the like of Dave Jenkins and a Division 1 new boy – Ryan Smith, both driving MAN race trucks built by Multiple FIA European Truck Racing Champion Jochen Hahn… The would be a hard fought one!

Steve hit the ground running by qualifying in fourth place on Saturday morning. This set him up for a second row grid position all lined up for the inside line in to the infamous Paddock Hill corner!! With the fast Jochen rocket ships ahead of him Steve had a duel with 10 times British Champion – Stuart Oliver. He remained in fourth place until the chequered flag.

The first two races on Sunday supplied Steve with another two 4th place finishes again after having a running fight with the hard charging Stuart Oliver. After lunch in the third race Steve dropped the hammer at the start of the race and got the drop on both Stuart Oliver and Ryan Smith to get 3rd place and then hold on to it, even with the flying Ryan Smith charging hard on Steves heels!!

Sadly the last race of the day saw Steve lose turbo pressure. This relegated him 8th place…

Now it is on to the South Wales and Pembrey in May.
